Robert Jones - background and experience
In business as a Consulting Engineer since 1993. I spent 16 years since graduation
in 1974 working with major civil engineering and building contractors on projects
that included roads (including Hayle and Launceston By-passes), drainage, bridges
and other structures, housing, factories, shops, Roadford Dam, Falmouth Marina, Temporary
Works Design (mainly bridge supports for use during the construction process but
I also designed and supervised the building of the temporary cofferdam for the lock
gate construction at Falmouth Marina) and a sugar plantation project in the Sudan
working mainly on irrigation canals, with water being pumped inland from the White
Nile. I also worked on a Water Treatment Works in the Sudan. In 1990 I joined a well
known and respected Consulting Engineering practice in Truro working on a variety
of projects before setting up my own practice in 1993. I am both a Chartered Civil
Engineer and a Chartered Builder and gained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management
Studies (DMS) at Cornwall College in 1990.
